#InBrunchWeTrust Recap

SISTERHOOD. That is a word that’s incredibly important to me now more than ever. I can’t think of anything more powerful than a strong group of women, and we’re seeing a huge shift in our culture when it comes to supporting one another. I’m sure that you, just like myself, are so inspired by the women in your lives right now. How can we not be? Women are killing it in every single aspect of their lives. From building businesses to being moms to taking an active stance on politics—you name it. We’re (quite literally) doing it all.

After speaking at the Create & Cultivate in Los Angeles alongside so many amazing women, I wanted to keep the spirit alive and show the women who inspire me how much I appreciate them. As a woman who is grateful for their positive influence, their accomplishments, and how they’ve impacted the world, I took things into my own hands and hosted my first-ever #InBrunchWeTrust. I can’t ignore the fact that I have a huge platform and I’m excited to use it to create a safe space for women to share our dreams, our fears, and get lifted by one another.

For my first #InBrunchWeTrust morning, I thought it was ideal to host it on that Sunday’s new moon. The New Moon in Pisces was meant to bring guidance and open the doors for healing and inspiration—exactly what #InBrunchWeTrust is about. As women, we put a lot on our backs and often leave ourselves and our needs on the back burner and this event is built for doing the exact opposite. I made sure that I presented the women in my life a chance to receive versus the constant giving they’re used to. In other words, this is not your traditional brunch experience.

While everything about the first brunch was absolutely magical, I was so honored to have author and spiritual writer Lalah Delia there to speak to everyone. As a huge fan of her book, Vibrate Higher Daily, this was a complete full circle moment for me. Trust me, I get it, there isn’t a handbook on how to live life, but Lalah’s book really changed a lot for me. I guess you could say that this is the first time in my life where I felt like I learned the right tools tailored to me and my experiences. Upon reading Vibrate Higher Daily, I’ve learned how to properly react to certain external experiences and circumstances that have happened, and will continue to happen, in my life. I don’t take good vibes lightly and Lalah’s expertise has taught me that as humans we’re constantly vibrating and those vibrations really move the energy around us. Our energy is more contagious and powerful than we would ever think, and we’re completely capable of controlling it and how we want to exert it. We can ALL vibrate higher daily if we’re consciously choosing to. I can’t even begin to express how thankful I am for her Lalah and the fact that she shared some of her own experiences and teachings with me and my closest friends, meant the world to me!

I brought some of my closest girlfriends from Miami along for the ride, and other guests included Tammy Brook of FYI Brand Group,   Sam Telfair of The Merger NYC, Dr. Sharon Wilborn, Deepica Mutyala of Live Tinted, and Tia Mowry of Anser. All of these women have bee, and continue to be some of my biggest supporters and I’m glad to do the same for them. Since this event is all about women and the powerhouses that they are, it was just as important to work with women to put it together and help bring it to life.

I was so happy to have chef Becky Reams create the menu and delicacies for our first brunch. She’s truly a visionary and the presentation of everything was so, so beautiful! We had so many delicious bites such as individual yogurt and granola jars, waffle bites, quiche, fruit and vegetable platters, and so much more. Let’s just say that everyone left full and very happy, to say the least. And of course it wouldn’t be complete without some amazing memories and photos thanks to our lovely female photographers, Becki Smith and Kaleena Carol-Ann.

At the end of the day, I wanted to make everyone feel super special and #InBrunchWeTrust did exactly that! From the feedback I received, everyone did leave feeling encouraged, inspired, and even more proud to be a woman today. Like I always say we are stronger, better, and more powerful together. If I can somehow be the glue that brings amazing women together, then I’m doing my job.

Stay tuned for a lot more from #InBrunchWeTrust! XOXO.
