Can you believe it’s already fall!? This year has literally flown by despite the circumstances. I never thought we’d get closer to the end of 2020 but here we are! While I’m just as anxious as everyone else to say goodbye to this year, I’m excited to enjoy one of my favorite seasons and all the cozy things that come with it. I wanted to give you all a little roundup of everything I’m loving this fall, and no I’m not talking products. From podcasts to reads to everything in between, here’s my official list of fall faves for 2020.
Podcast
The Dissenters: One of my favorite actresses, Debra Messing, has a podcast with I Am a Voter founder Mandana Dayani where they chat with all of their heroes. Their guests, aka The Dissenters, have all challenged the status quo, broken boundaries, and strive to make a difference in their respective communities. As an entrepreneur, I love hearing stories from others who have opened the doors to new opportunities without letting anything get in the way.
Books:
Kamala and Maya’s Big Idea by Meena Harris: Yes, this is a children’s book and as a mom of five, I get to enjoy these too! Kamala and Maya’s Big Idea is a true story about Meena’s aunt, none other than Kamala Harris herself. The book explains to kids how two young (and very smart) women made a difference in their community and inspired serious change. This is a great way to introduce your kids to the vice presidential candidate!
After The Rain by Alex Elle: A collection of self-love, compassion, resilience and perseverance, this book is part memoir and part guide written by the incredibly talented Alex Elle. She is one of my favorite accounts to follow on Instagram and I’m so happy to have her beautiful words on my nightstand for an instant pick-me-up.
Own Your Glow by Latham Thomas: My dear friend Latham offers an illuminated path for examining life’s challenges, helping you curate your path to greatness, while embracing your uniquely feminine attributes through her latest book. Packed with rituals, meditations, and snackable lifestyle tips, Latham provides a clear framework for harnessing your passion, developing spiritual fitness, and embracing true vulnerability.
Eighteen Inches by Mirtha Michelle Castro Mármol: Poems that explore the distance between the head and the heart—and all of the pain, beauty, and hope in between written by my lovely and strong friend, Mirtha. This book might make you cry, fill you with nostalgia, empower you, or even give you hope.
Social Accounts:
- I Am A Voter: I’ve always been an advocate for voting and have used my platform as a resource, and I Am a Voter has helped me so much along the way. They educate, get people registered, and have friendly reminders for important election dates. Seriously, they couldn’t make life any easier.
- Morgan Harper Nichols: Do you ever come across someone who just makes you feel so damn inspired? That’s how I feel about Morgan. She’s not only an amazing writer, but she’s a poet and musician too. Her Instagram feed is full of positive affirmations, and it’s great to scroll through when you need it most.
- Spirit Daughter: It’s no secret that I’m a very spiritual person. Spirit Daughter has truly helped me live my best life with mantras, astrology talk, moon facts, and so much more. If you’re trying to tap into a different side of yourself this is a great account to follow.
Blog:
This Time Tomorrow: I love reading other blogs and getting inspired by other creatives. I’ve been following Krystal for a few years now, and her style is timeless! Her blog also features her travels to the most amazing places across the globe, and has me itching for the time we can finally go on vacation again! I love watching women live out their dreams and look super chic while doing it!
Clothing
Now and Gen: My good friend, Genevieve Padalecki, has a new clothing line with Kohl’s. I know how hard she worked on this so I was so excited to finally see it come to life! It’s all about being stylish while remaining comfortable, and Gen made sure that it’s accessible enough for all budgets. It’s the perfect line for women who don’t want to sacrifice looking chic for comfort!
Phenomenal Woman: Founded by the brilliant Meena Harris, Phenomenal Woman is a female-powered lifestyle brand that brings awareness to social causes. The brand has collaborated with many non-profits to bring awareness to their causes, such as Essie Justice Group, Black Futures Lab, Justice For Migrant Women, and so many more! I love their most recent collection of Vote tees.
Wellness Supplements:
Anser: Another good friend of mine, Tia Mowry, created a supplement line that I love so much–Anser! A lot of us neglect our daily vitamins, but Anser makes it super easy to stay on track of our health everyday. And they have several different options too! There are supplements available for beauty, immunity, weight management, and more.
What are some things you’re loving this fall? I’d love to get inspired by you guys to try some new things!
