Date Night Ideas at Home

Summer’s almost over, and many of us are still at home practicing social distancing as much as we can. That’s no excuse to let romance pass you by! You and your partner should still enjoy some quality couple time, and that includes some simple date nights at home. I know it’s not ideal, but at least it’s something to show your love and appreciation for one another! I’ve rounded up some ideas for having a date night at home during quarantine, and I can’t wait to hear what you think! These are simple, affordable, and most of all…FUN!

Wine & Dine

To me, food is a labor of love. I love putting together meals for my family along with our quality time at the dinner table. However, when it comes to date night, it’s all about treating both you and your partner. Order in a fancy dinner from a top-rated restaurant, and score the best bottle of wine you can find. Take this time to enjoy dinner and each other’s company in a different way while still staying at home. This could spark up some great conversation and remind each of you why you love one another. Plus, who doesn’t love dinner and drinks!?

Travel Theme Night

The other day I posted this photo on Instagram and it inspired me to do a Paris theme date night at home! Since most of us are traveling shorter distances or maybe not even at all, I think it would be fun to bring the culture to you. Take a trip around the world from the comfort of your home with delicious food (a great opportunity to support local businesses for takeout), put on some music, or maybe watch a foreign film.

Movie Night

Watching a movie that you both love is another easy, yet meaningful way to spend some time together. Or, you can switch things up and watch something that you haven’t seen yet or that you typically wouldn’t decide to watch. This sparks up some great conversation, but also leaves a lot of room for snuggling up together and just enjoying the moment. There are so many new releases on streaming services, and now most movies that were set to premiere in theaters can be watched in the comfort of your own home. Make some popcorn, grab some candy, and enjoy!

Game Night

A little competition never hurt anyone! Put on your gaming hat and whip out some board games, card games, or classics like charades. We all know that game night can lead to some great laughs, and there are so many new games that are adult-friendly to try. Cards Against Humanity anyone!? If you want to get deep, buy a deck of the We’re Not Really Strangers game and tug at your heartstrings a bit.

#TBT

Go back to where it all started (not physically of course). Whip out some old photo albums, or watch some old videos if you have any. Going down memory lane is both nostalgic and refreshing! This will remind you of all the amazing memories you’ve created together leading you up to where you are now.

Spa Night

Let’s face it, we all deserve to relax right now. Time’s are tough and there’s no sign of us officially being in the clear any time soon. So, why not bring the spa to your home? Order some luxurious robes, slippers, and your favorite face masks. Light some candles to set the mood and get a bubble bath going! Doesn’t that sound amazing? You don’t need to leave the house to get pampered, and doing it with your partner is even better.

Late-Night Swim (for those with a pool!)

If you’re lucky enough to have a yard with a pool during quarantine, you should totally be taking advantage of it. We are in summer after all! Once the kids are asleep, go for a late night swim with your love and allow yourselves to relax. No need to play pool games or clean after anyone, this is just the perfect way to get alone time outdoors. You’re spending enough time cooped up inside, so you deserve it!

Any other date night ideas to try at home? Let me know!
