Jackson’s Quarantine Birthday Party!

We’ve been in quarantine for how long now!? I’ve honestly lost count. As a family, we’ve been trying to make the best of the current circumstances and have fun in any way that we can—that includes birthdays! We recently celebrated Jackson’s eighth birthday had such a blast partying it up at home.

While we couldn’t have all of his friends and our extended family come by to celebrate, we still had an amazing time celebrating another year of our little boy’s life. On the other hand, I can’t believe he’s already eight years old! Time is flying by, even in quarantine.

Jackson loves Beyblade! Of course I went all out to give him the best Beyblade-themed party I could, with the help of Sew Sweet Crafts. Jackson’s delicious cake was customized by one of my favorite bakers, Vanessa Mateo. We had individual party cups (with our names on them) so that everyone could keep track of their own as we’re being extra safe during these times! Apart from the beautiful cake, we also snacked on some mini donuts that we decorated ourselves during the party. For the main event, we’d had some savory chicken because it’s Jackson’s absolute fave!

Chris and I have really tried to get creative and keep the kids entertained during quarantine, so we figured that Jackson’s was the perfect opportunity for some backyard camping. We had some tents set up and everything—we were playing zero games this year when it came to his birthday. But it didn’t stop at camping! We also did some spin art, since tie-dye patterns are super in right now. The kids also had a great time soaking me in a water gun fight, as you can clearly see here!

Practicing social distancing may not be ideal, but it’s absolutely necessary, even if we have to put some fun on the line for it. If any of your kids are having a birthday during quarantine, think of all the ways you can get creative! I’ve seen so many amazing ways that people have celebrated whether it’s at home with their parents for a fake club night, or a drive-by parade with all of their neighbors. Our resources might be limited, but our minds and creativity are not. Use this time to really enjoy it as a family, and turn your home into the best party venue they could’ve never imagined. I hope you’re all staying safe, and having fun responsibly!
